Side Note: You may be wondering what in the world that title is all about. It is a joke between myself, Karen, Kendall, and Jared. It would take too long to explain - just had to be there.

This past weekend I got to step away from Mommyhood for a few days and enter the almost forgotten land of no responsibilities, do what you want when you want, sleep late, and enjoy girl talk to your heart's content!! I spent the weekend with my sister Karen and her two boys, Kendall and Jared. It was a marvelous weekend. Karen and I spent most of Saturday eating out (a rare occasion for me), shopping (without kids - WOW what a difference!!), and talking (women have so many words they must get out daily - I fulfilled my quota for the next 3 months!!!) Saturday evening we went to the
Monk and Neagle concert. If there are any fans out there reading this, I have a bit of sad news. Neagle wasn't there due to a newborn son and the strong desire to stay at home with his family. I respect that decision completely, but it seems like that is permanent decision. Would have loved to see them perform together.

However,Trent Monk was FANTASTIC!!! He is a very talented musician and I will support his continuing music career. Anyway,that night we stayed up until 2am playing the
Impossible Quiz (want to play it? go to the bottom of
Karen's blog. Beware: you will get addicted) The next morning I slept in until the late hour of 8:30(which is extremely late in my house with a husband that likes to get up at 5:30) but then went back to sleep for 2 hours. Ahhhhh - I am well rested. I stayed in my pjs until 3 o'clock in the afternoon. NEVER DO THAT!! So great!! Karen and I decided that we need to spend more weekends

together like this. I don't care what stage you are at as a Mother, you need a break every once in a while. I plan to be more active in getting that break. I will be a better Mother for it!!
