Gabe came home yesterday joking about a conversation he had at work about when people (this includes you too- you know you've done this - come out of your hiding place and admit it!!) think they know the lyrics to a song and confidently sing it out loud only to be laughed at by others. That conversation led me to remember when I was elementary or junior high age. I was walking around my house belting out...."You make me feel like a lanch or a woman" My sister rolled her eyes and laughed hysterically when she realized what song I was singing and what the lyrics really were. It was supposed to be, "You make me feel like a natural woman"! So, on that note, I have some challenges for you....
1. If you have ever done this (and you know you have) respond and let me know what your mixed up lyrics were.
2. What's a lanch? You tell me.... respond with your very own definitions for "lanch"!

I will play. I can't think of one that I have personally done (right now, but will think). My mom has one that just makes me laugh. My mom would sing "I like green enchiladas" for the song "I like pina coladas". My mom was so excited that there was a song about Green enchiladas.
Ok, I'll admit to wondering what a "Lahl shaker and Sahl" (from Margaritaville, "Lost shaker of Salt")...but I NEVER sang it out loud! I Promise!
Sure Gabe, WHATEVER!!You know you sang it out loud!!
Okay, here is mine.... The song "Dust on the Bottle" I thought the whole song was "Dust on the Bible". I will admit (Gabe) that I sang it out loud! But only in my car when no one was around. ;)
Oh Yes...I definitely include myself in this category! I HAVE done this, but I just couldn't think of a specific song. I did come across a funny one though. It's Creedence's,"Bad Moon Rising", the lyric says, "There's a bad moon on the rise," and it was heard as, "There's a baboon on the right." :-)
And the meaning of lanch...hmmm, it's close to leech?? :-)
I repeated the 23rd Psalm for, let's say, about 40 to 50 years without realizing that there was no comma between surely and goodness. I guess I figured that all three, surely, goodness, and mercy, were to follow me all the days of my life as I dwelt in the house of the Lord forever. I memorized this psalm as a child; many years later I was still saying it with a comma. Can you imagine how foolish I felt to suddenly, in my advanced years, realize the true meaning of that phrase. I mean I was always tickled about the goodness and mercy part but just had to accept the surely part on faith. Mom
Ok, some may not know this song but it's a country song called Looking For a Party Crowd and I always thought it said "looking for a car to drive" I don't know but I thought that maybe he just didn't have a ride...
