Here we go again!! We started our second year of home school. Things went well today for the most part. Isaac is starting more kindergarten type curriculum. If he was going to public school, he would not be in kindergarten yet, but that is the beauty of home school. We can do what fits his learning style and needs.
If he had it his way, I think Isaac would do math or science all day.... handwriting, not so much! He acts like I am torturing him. (which I am not, I promise!!) He can also tend to be a bit of a perfectionist, so if he can't do it right the first time he would rather not try at all. Bit challenging I must say!! Our motto is, "It does not have to be perfect, but you must try your best!"
All in all, I am happy to be getting back into home schooling. I enjoy teaching so much. What a great gift it is to me to be able to teach my own children. I am also glad to have more focused time with Isaac and Julia. Great excuse to just stay home and be with my kids.
***9/3/08 On Mondays and Wednesdays we do school in the mornings, so Julia is right there with us. She too wanted to be apart of school. Her current project is to make a "Brown Bear, Brown Bear....." book. She takes her work pretty seriously! I couldn't get her to look up and smile.
