6 Months

I am already 6 months pregnant and my baby bump is blossoming! I am feeling very "full" already and bending over is near impossible. I have looked back at pictures of when I was pregnant with Caleb and I am showing just about the same. Caleb weighed in at 9lbs 4oz when he was born. Total shocker! Wonder how big this little guy will be. (GULP) I'll try to get an update picture up soon but seeing as I have been basically living in my PJs lately, I need to wait until I have actually fixed my hair and am wearing decent clothes to have my picture taken!!

Overall I have been feeling just fine. Only dealing with the normal aches and pains of pregnancy (for a fourth pregnancy at the age of 35) I have had a lot of lower back/tail bone/hip pain. I don't remember being uncomfortable with that in the other pregnancies. This little guy just must be sitting in there differently. This isn't new to this month, but I have also been experiencing a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions. I have had them for several months now, but as the pregnancy progresses they are happening more often and are more uncomfortable. Just my body's way of getting ready!

My older kids are head over heels in love with this baby boy already. Julia sings to him, Isaac can't wait to hold him, and Caleb (bless his little heart) is so affectionate towards him. Caleb tells him almost daily that he loves him. He talks to him through my belly button and gets so excited seeing all the baby stuff coming out. Just today I washed a load of baby towels. Caleb saw it, ran up to it, and gave the towel a hug saying, "Awww, Baby Beninin towel" So heartwarming and adorable! If you caught that, our baby's name will be Benjamin!!

I am starting to slowly get things ready for our baby's arrival. I know I still have months ahead of me to do this but life is about to get really busy with home school starting and the fall schedule starting soon. Also, I have in the back of my mind the placenta previa issue. If for some reason I am put on bed rest in a few months I would feel much better if a lot of the preparation is already taken care of. Right now I am washing clothes and linens for this little guy. Next I need to get in the attic and figure out what baby items we still have and what I still need to get.

I had to do the dreaded glucose test last week. Good news: I don't have gestational diabetes. Bad news: I am slightly anemic again. I was as well when pregnant with Caleb. I have to take this nasty iron supplement that can have some unpleasant side effects to say the least! ;) Blah! Oh well, whatever we need to do to keep little Benjamin healthy and growing. I love him so much already and look forward to holding him and looking into his sweet eyes. God's blessings are abundant!!!
