To the tune of $300

This morning my alarm went off at 5:30 a.m. I am NOT a morning person, especially right now when I am getting very little if any quality sleep. Not only did I have to drag myself out of bed, I also had to drag three very sleepy children out of bed by 5:45 a.m., one of which is also not a morning person. The reason for our early morning......

The dog, not the boy. Oliver, our dog of 5 years, loves to go exploring the neighborhood. He has gotten out of our backyard before, but never gotten caught by anyone but neighbors (thankfully) Well, a week ago last Friday our "luck" ran out. The kids and I were at our homeschool co-op. Ollie found an escape from our backyard and went roaming. A neighbor picked him up and called my phone. However, I don't get any coverage at our church where we were at the time. Not knowing what else to do, this neighbor called Animal Control.

We came home to find a notice from Animal Control on our front door. When we went to pick him up we were given 4 citations and a bill of $65 just to get him out of Animal Control. We have paid $35 more just to have 2 of the citations dropped. And if the running at large citation isn't dropped, then we will pay another $120 on top of court fees. The fourth citation was that he was not neutered while running at large. We were ordered to get him neutered (another $50) by our court date in early November. That's where he is today. Snip, Snip! I searched high and low to find a low cost neutering service. I found one, but the drawbacks were that it was on the complete other side of San Antonio. I'm talking it took us 45 minutes to drive over there. And he had to be dropped off between 6:30 - 8:00. Thus the very early morning. And we have to drive ALL the way back over there this afternoon.

I am not too happy with this dog right now. Good thing he has Caleb on his side!!
