We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday on September 21 and 22. Gabe took the day off from work on Friday which was his actual birthday. He spent the morning blessing the kids by coming to our home school co-op and helping out in their classrooms. They kids were ecstatic to have the opportunity to show their Papa what they do at REACH. Isaac even had one of his classes sing "Happy Birthday" to Gabe!
We all went out for lunch then headed home to relax the rest of the day. Friday night Gabe grilled some steaks and we all enjoyed a scrumptious birthday dinner with him. I made him an oatmeal raisin cookie cake. He loves oatmeal raisin cookies, so I thought this would be perfect! We finished his birthday with a family movie night.
Saturday was the big party day. I had reserved a pavilion at a local park for Saturday night. Gabe's good friend cooked the meat; brisket, sausage, and hot dogs for the kids. We added the sides and had a very yummy BBQ for Gabe's birthday party. My friend, Melissa Tovar at Buttercream Blessings, made the cake and cupcakes. The kids ran wild all over the park and the adults enjoyed an evening of just hanging out and catching up. Gabe said it was exactly what he wanted. I was delighted to throw this party for the love of my life. I am blessed to be married to such a wonderful man who is a great husband, father, son, and friend.
Happy 40th Birthday my love!!!
