Could you resist......

this precious smile and bright eyes?! Believe me it is hard!! Julia knows how to put on the charm which is sweet and a characteristic about her that I adore, but man it does make it hard to get onto her when I really need to. For instance, Julia has decided on her own that "rest" time is actually code for "play" time. Given warnings before rest time the other day, Julia still got up and drug out all kinds of toys having a grand time. I caught her in the act! She jumped, startled and look up at me with these beautiful eyes and said "I am so sorry Mommy. Will you please forgive me?" Heart melting!!! I took her by the hand and led her to the hallway of doom - aka: the time-out spot. "Yes, Julia I do forgive you and thank you for apologizing, but you still have to endure the consequences of your disobedience!" She gets highly distressed when there is an upset in a relationship. She can not stand to be in trouble. That's why she so quickly tries to diffuse the situation by apologizing for her wrong choices. Again, good quality to have. I just have to work hard to steal my heart against her heart melting looks and follow through with her discipline. Come to find out, Julia had more fun that day than I had yet discovered. (Gabe had the grand privilege of discovering this when putting her to bed that night) She apparently got out her washable (thank goodness) dry erase markers and decorated her bed sheets. Gabe did follow through and Julia sadly had to have an appointment with the big red paddle!!

Sad days when those things happen...but a fun memory to remind her of LATER! It is hard to follow through on those consequences...but oh so necessary. You just need to close your eyes so you don't have to see her big beautiful eyes!
