Isaac's 7th Birthday

Isaac just turned 7 years old. Crazy! He has been looking forward to this birthday for awhile, but isn't that the case every year?! He wants time to speed up and I want it to slow down.

We began his birthday celebrations with our traditional birthday muffin and Dr. Suess' Happy Birthday to You. An added bonus on his birthday, he got to spend the day at REACH with his friends. That night we went to Peter Piper Pizza for his birthday dinner, his choice! No Rainforest Cafe this year. (I am secretly relieved) The next day we had a science themed birthday party. And even though it rained all day, we didn't let that ruin our birthday fun. What did interfere more was the fact that Isaac woke up early Saturday morning saying his head hurt. His exact words were, "My head hurts, my stomach hurts, my throat hurts, but I want to eat my cake" Can't blame the boy, that would be weighing heavy on my mind too! The hours leading up to the party he said he felt better but half way through the party he grabbed a blanket and laid down on the couch while his friends played all around him. Poor guy! I think he had started running a fever at that time. Isaac pushed passed it and enjoyed the rest of his party with a smile on his face, but as soon as his guests left he headed straight back to the couch and crawled under a blanket. Found out on Monday that he has strep throat. Great, we just shared all that with his best friends. Lovely!

Here are some pictures from Isaac's birthday celebrations.......

We read this book at every birthday. Fun family tradition.

We actually got to wake him up with "Happy Birthday" Usually he is wide awake waiting on us.

Me and my birthday boy

We gave him a drum pad set. I know, what were we thinking?!

Playing air hockey with his lil' sis. Yes, he won!

Woo Hoo, look at all those tickets. He might be able to buy a piece of gum with all that!!

Isaac with his science cake

The cake was a hodge podge of ideas I gathered from the internet. Turned out cute though!

The top of the cake display. Like the scientist?!

Happy Birthday to Isaac Douglas Landes!!

Science Experiments: Balloon blast, Bubble bombs, Blobs in a Bottle, and Slime

Gift time!

Balloon Rocket Races

Standing in the rain waiting for our soda geyser finale! It was worth it. The kids LOVED it!

Gabe said he almost launched the geyser too early. He would have ended up with a face full of soda if he had.

This is how Isaac ended his day, on the couch tucked under a blanket. Poor guy! Found out a few days later that he had strep throat.
