Today is my 32nd birthday - not afraid to share that little tidbit of information. I am not one to fret too much about age. I am usually happy right where I am in life.
I woke up this morning to a plate of freshly baked muffins on the table. It is a family tradition to have birthday muffins. Gabe had to leave early this morning so he left the muffins and note for me. So sweet!! When the kids woke up we decided to do something special and have a breakfast picnic in the living room. So fun!!!!
Last weekend Isaac went "shopping" around the house for my birthday gifts from him. He filled no less than 5 or 6 gift bags with toys from his room. He even put his beloved green lego race car in one bag. I asked him if we could keep my "gifts" in his room so we could play with them. He readily agreed!!! He also drew me a sweet picture.....my favorite gift from him!

So far the morning was going spectacular.......dum, dum dummmmmmmmm.... then the spell was broken when we started home school. Some days are better than others. This was a not so great day. Let's just skip the details on this part of my birthday. Moving on...
I tried to salvage the day with the kids by making our own little pizzas for lunch. YUM! Ok, all better now!

With a little food in our bellies and rest time (nap for me!) the day was definitely looking up. Plus, Gabe would be home soon. My day always gets better when he is around.
We spent the rest of the evening eating at Olive Garden, then back home for gifts. Dinner was yummy and the kids were wonderfully behaved - shocker after the day we had. Gabe got me a flash diffuser for my camera and a Dirt Devil Hand Vac. I know you are probably thinking.....what?!!! An appliance for your birthday? Actually I have been wanting (needing) one so it was a great gift. Gabe was afraid he might get in trouble for that one!!! All in all, it was a wonderful birthday. Thank you to all that sent cards, greetings, and calls. I love you all.
