Dressed in their "Sunday Best"

This is what Isaac and Julia looked like minutes before we left for church yesterday.

Yep, you saw that right. My children wore PJs to church. And no, that is not a regular practice in our family. The children's program at our church is doing a unit about the Parables Jesus told, so the theme of the unit is.... "Story time with Jesus". They have invited all the children to wear PJs to church for the next couple of weeks. I must say that as fun as that sounded to me, something deeply rooted screamed.... NO!!!!!! It just didn't seem right. I know, I know God is not concerned with what we wear to church, but none the less it made me feel uncomforable to take my children to church wearing their PJs. Of course, they thought it was the best thing that ever happened to them.

So Isaac goes to his Sunday school first hour then to the service with Gabe and I the second hour. We took communion yesterday. This was Isaac's first communion since he confessed his faith last month. Gabe and I couldn't help but see the humor in the fact that Isaac's first communion was taken while wearing his cute little boy PJs. Doesn't get any simpler than that!!!

On a more serious note, I was teary eyed and awed at how serious Isaac took The Lord's Supper. He was very reverent and held the elements as he bowed his head in prayer. Humbling to say the very least.

Back to the funnier side of our day. I giggled just a little when we got home from church and changed the kids out of their PJs into regular day clothes. There is just something wrong with that picture!!!
