11 Months

On August 4th, Caleb turned 11 months old. I still can't believe his 1st birthday is right around the corner. We are going to have a monkey themed party for him. Pretty obvious as to why, but I called him my lil' chunky monkey at birth (9lb 4 oz) and now he is so active and into things... he is my curious monkey.

In this past month, Caleb has gotten better and better at walking. At this point (Aug 4th) he is still half crawling and half walking, but he is trying to walk on his own more. This, of course, has led to him starting to climb on things. I caught him standing on his little rocking chair the other day.And so it begins!!! His curiosity could make home schooling quite interesting this year! (Update: It has taken me so long to finish this post, I have to update it before I even post it.... sigh. Anyway, Caleb is now a full time walker and is already pretty fast at it. This little guy can move! He looks so cute toddling around and it still catches me off guard when he walks up to me)

He is completely weaned from formula, bottles, and baby food. He is now drinking milk from sippy cups and is eating big boy table food. Overnight my baby turned into a toddler. Sigh

Caleb is a sucker for anything soft. I caught him cuddling a pair of mittens the other day. He will grab something soft and hold it up to his cheek. So adorable. No matter how much he cuddles all things soft and fluffy, he still absolutely adores his blue blankie. He drags this blanket around everyone. Reminds me of Linus on Charlie Brown.

Lately Caleb has been throwing some mini-tantrums anytime anyone walks out of a room and shuts the door. He can not stand it if someone leaves him, especially if that someone is going outside. He LOVES to be outside and literally gets giddy when he finally gets to go. I am ready for the temps to cool down so we can spend more time outside. Caleb also LOVES to swing. My other two enjoyed this as well at this age but I am not sure they enjoyed it as much as Caleb does. Huge smiles and lots of giggles.

Another coveted area for Caleb is the forbidden bedroom of Isaac and Julia. If he ever scores an entrance into their room he is a very happy little camper. We try our best to keep the Legos up and out of reach, but that just isn't reality. I dug one bean and several Lego pieces out of Caleb's mouth the other day. Better than digging them out of a diaper, eh?! It is a whole different ballgame having a toddler and two older siblings with very tiny toys. Isaac and Julia often compete for Caleb's attention (they compete for EVERYTHING, but that's another story for another day) Caleb adores them both and enjoys getting abundant attention from them. However, he doesn't like when they have had enough of his "curiosity" and strongly encourage him to leave their room. Battle ensues - just use your imagination!

Currently my favorite picture of him. He is looking more and more "big boyish" than baby.
