I signed the kids up for swimming lessons in late July. Isaac has always battled such a fear of water for years, so much so that swimming lessons were a waste of time and money. He has learned more on his own time in our neighborhood pool the last two summers..... and that is free!!! But since he has gotten past some fears I decided to sign him up again. He did GREAT!!! His class only had 3 students and his teacher was wonderful with him. He tried more things than I thought he would and gained a lot of confidence in the water. He still has a healthy fear of water but not a panicked fear of water.
Julia also had a wonderful time at her swimming lessons. She is the opposite of Isaac with water fears. She is a little more on the fearless side. Which is good and bad. I always fear her getting into a situation she thinks she can handle but can't. She learned a lot about swimming and met a few new friends along the way. So I am happy to report that this is the first year that I don't feel like we wasted our time and money!! Swimming lessons were a success!
