Lemonade Stand

It is so not like me to be this behind on my blog. Needless to say, it has been a very busy summer! I have lots to catch you up on. So we are going to back up a bit......

In late May the kids ran their very first Lemonade Stand. The months prior, I had been teaching Isaac a little bit about money and thought it would be good to put some of his new knowledge to use!!

Isaac and Julia made their own signs, shopped for the lemonade ingredients, made it themselves, and helped set up the stand. They were both so stinking cute. They would put on their cutest smiles, wave, and shout "Lemonade for sale!" Most people could not resist their childish charm and would immediately stop. If someone did not stop, they would say "that's okay, have a nice day" Have I already mentioned how stinking cute they were?!

Isaac and Julia decided to sell their lemonade for 10 cents a cup, but most people tipped very well and gave them a dollar instead. At the end of the day they had a profit of $14. Not too shabby for a lemonade stand, eh?!

I was impressed with how well they both handled talking to their customers. I expected them to get shy and chicken out of talking to the adults. But they didn't! They used their manners, were polite, and kind. This was one of those proud parent moments when you realize that by golly something has sunk in with them. I do believe I heard angels singing.... I don't know, maybe that was simply my imagination. :)
