Valentine's Fun

Last Friday our home school co-op had a Valentine's party. They are so great to make events like this happen for our children. Even though we usually go to these parties, I dropped the ball this year and didn't get signed up before the dead line. Oops! I confessed my negligence to the kids and though they were disappointed to miss out they were very understanding of their scatter brained Mama! To make it up to them I planned a day full of fun on the big V-day!

Before the kids woke up I laid out a red table cloth and topped it with Valentine's balloons and treats for the kids to find when they got up. We woke Caleb up with his balloon and treat. I gave him a little stuffed puppy. He saw it and all  he could say was, "puppy, puppy" Right now, this is his favorite animal. I think Oliver has had something to do with that!

For breakfast we had heart shaped pancakes topped with cool whip and strawberries. What a treat! I hid love notes for the kids to find as they did their morning jobs. To see the look on their faces, I do believe they felt loved.

We made pink rice krispie treats for snack and then made  heart shaped pizza for lunch. After lunch I gave them clues and took them on a treasure hunt. At the end of the hunt they found a box of candy and a fun valentine's cup. I love doing stuff like this with my kids!

We spent the afternoon making crafts and cards for each other. We met Gabe for dinner and when we got home we dipped strawberries in chocolate as we sipped on sparkling grape juice or fancy juice as Julia calls it. I adore my family. I hope they know it. I hope I tell them enough and show them enough. I hope I am loving them the way they need to be loved. Happy Valentines' to  the loves of my life!
LOVES his new puppy!

The kids enjoyed singing "Happy Valentine's To You"

During craft time, Caleb thought it would be a good idea to stand on the table and spin the chandelier.
