I have to take a minute to brag on my little girl. She is such a natural student. She has this internal, innate desire to learn. Love it! Makes my job as her teacher quite easy. Julia finished her first chapter book today, Andi's Pony Trouble. Have I mentioned that she is 5 years old?! So proud of her. It gets better.... this evening she picked up Charlotte's Web and began reading it on her own, just for fun. She's 5!! Right now as I type this (7 pm) she has voluntarily given herself an assignment. She is working on a reading activity folder about antonyms. Never taught her this. Explained what an antonym is and she went right to work. What does she choose to do during her free time? Julia chooses to read books to her little brother and work on school stuff. My Mommy heart is overflowing! I hope she keeps this desire to learn with her for the rest of her life.
