| Before the game, we got to go onto the field and have our picture taken with Ballapeno. |
We introduced our children to the all American game of baseball this past weekend. A couple of months ago I purchased a Groupon for tickets to a San Antonio Missions game. Of all the years I have lived here I have never gone to any of their games. It was so fun! The Missions are a minor league team and sadly they lost miserably (11 to 1), but that didn't deter us from making the most of our night out as a family. Isaac is just now at the age that he is actually starting to enjoy sports more, so he was very interested in how the game is played. Julia loved the hype of the game and all the fun that was going on around her. And Caleb... well this little guy can have fun anywhere he is! The kids even walked away with a baseball. I missed the entire event because I was getting food for everyone when it happened. But from what I was told, a foul ball was hit that landed on the field. One of the players tossed it into the stands which headed right towards Gabe and the kids. Everyone around them scrambled to get it, it bounced around (and even bounced off Caleb's head) and finally ended up in Isaac's hands. Awesome! The kids were super pumped! Even though it was a Saturday night and we had church the next day, we stuck it out for 9 innings because there were fireworks after the game. The kids didn't know this until right before the fireworks began. They were ,of course, delighted. We were all smiles as we left that night.
