Last night we celebrated Isaac's completion of his second Cubbie's year. He is officially graduating to Sparkies next year. Isaac and his fellow Cubbies started out the evening by singing a few songs that they learned throughout this year. In the past, Isaac has not done well in situations such as this, but last night he shined! I was so proud of him for getting up there in front of a large group of people and being uninhibited. Just sang his little heart out! Loved every minute of it!!!
Warning: This video is long, I think it's around 8 minutes, but well worth the watch. Isaac had so much fun getting up there and singing. Just imagine me a bit teary eyed last night as I watched my son take another step towards growing up a little bit more. Bittersweet.
The video gets wiggly towards the end. Julia insisted in wanting to be held, so she kept bumping me and the camera. Here's to hoping you don't get nauseated as you watch ;)
(The kids and I just watched the video and I am SO disappointed that the video is choppy. I don't know if it recorded that way or if the upload to the computer went haywire. Errr.... technology!)
Julia is anxiously awaiting her turn at becoming a Cubbie. She is giddy at the thought of getting to do such a "big girl" thing next fall. I had to laugh at her a bit tonight when she asked if they had princess vests for Cubbies. She would be delighted if I could sew some sparkles and ruffles on her new Cubbies vest. She is such a girlie girl.
Gabe has spent this past year volunteering his time as a Cubbie leader. Our intentions at first was to have one of us there to help Isaac with his behavior. The previous year he had a lot of problems with obedience. Isaac has matured a lot since then and had a fabulous year at AWANA. Gabe has done a wonderful job corralling the little ones. Which by his account was a tough job on most nights. Just imagine 35 or so 3 to 5 year olds gone wild. Get the picture?!
After Isaac finished his part in the AWANA Awards night, we all went out for ice cream. Fun to celebrate accomplishments with our sweet children. Looking forward to many more in the future!
