Isaac has been wanting to camp out in the backyard for as long as I can remember. The answer was always "no" until a few weeks ago. The look on Isaac's face when we finally told him yes was priceless. He immediately loaded up all his gear: flashlight, sleeping bag, snack, drink, bug spray, pillow, and Bear. He was beyond excited. Isaac set up his camp site in the playhouse around 8:00. He told us he was Mr. Survivor Boy who takes chances, makes mistakes, and gets dirty. LOVE it! Gabe and I wondered how long he would last out there. Gabe figured he would be in by 10. Sure enough the sun went down, darkness set in, and Isaac was back inside at 9:30. He came in saying he was lonely and asked if I would go sleep with him out there. Um, NO! I would rather not be an all night buffet for the mosquitoes! Then he said that he felt it was too dangerous for him to be out there because the ants were attacking him. He does have a legit ant allergy but I knew what was really going on. I played into it and said that of course it was too dangerous and maybe he should move his camp out to the living room for the night. Didn't have to suggest that twice! He was all moved inside within minutes. It was pretty funny and cute! Love that kid!
Julia's Tea Party:
Julia is the sweetest little girl. I absolutely LOVE having a daughter. A couple of weekends ago, Julia set up a surprise for me while I was resting. When I woke up, I found that Julia had been a busy little bee. In her room she has set up a pretty elaborate tea party and had picked out all the princess clothes I was to wear complete with a crown and jewelry. We sipped tea with our pinkies up and talked with funny semi-British accents. So fun! We also gave each other manicures with our special diamond dust (aka: glitter finger nail polish) I love spending time like this with Julia. She is so precious to me.
