God provided us with some opportunities for Rest and Relaxation this weekend. After the news about the house last week, it was a welcome break. Friday night two friends, Jenny and Sara, insisted on watching the kids so Gabe and I could go on a date!! Glad they insisted because I probably would not have asked. Gabe and I laughed at how pathetic we are while out on a date. You can tell we have been married for awhile (7 years this summer!!) and have kids. Just getting out of the house is huge to us! We ate at Bellacino's and then, get this, we went on a romantic stroll to Wal-Mart. Pathetic, I know!! We bought Season Two of The Office and headed home early to get comfy and watch some episodes. Sad to say, but that is an ideal date for us right now!!
Saturday night we went to some friends house for a BBQ and swimming. The kids were like little fish, especially Julia. She was jumping in and everything. Isaac got past some fears and was swimming everywhere. (with floaties of course!!)
Sunday we got a visit from Phyllis, Peggy, Matt, April, and Sarabeth. It was great seeing them and spending the afternoon with them. Later that evening I even caught Gabe watching sports (for those that don't know Gabe.....HE IS NOT A SPORTS FAN!!!) Kind of strange seeing him with feet propped up in front of the tube watching a car race. He even thought it was pretty funny. (I have a picture to prove it, but I can't find where Gabe saved it)
Monday we worked around the house. I know that is not very relaxing but we have to get some repairs done on our house if we are ever going to sell it again!! We ended our holiday weekend by grilling and enjoying time as a family...just the four of us!
Round Two with the house started today!! I got up this morning and told Gabe that I better clean up around the house just in case it shows. He didn't think it would show so soon. Well, he was wrong and I am glad I did clean up before I left this morning. We had a showing this afternoon. At least the ball is rolling.... maybe we will get a buyer soon. Keep praying!
