Spring is in the Air!!

Take a deep breath and smell spring, clean and crisp!! Ok,that only works if you are actually outside. Taking a deep breath inside is not always so lovely and dreamlike. Especially around here with my sick little girl. That's another story for another day!! Anyway back to it.....I love spring! Probably for the same reasons everyone else does. Everything is new, fresh, clean, and so on and so forth. Inspires me want to make the inside of my house as new and fresh and clean. This past weekend I caught the "spring fever" bug big time. I had the strong desire to clean out and get rid of as much stuff as possible. And that I did!! Of course I am not only motivated by the sweet sunshine and fresh breezes outside. I have the "impending move" staring at me. I just feel it in my gut... our house WILL sell soon. So first thing Saturday morning (prior to eating breakfast or even getting out of my pjs) I began tackling the kitchen. I was on a mission and I did not stop until the entire kitchen was cleaned out and re-organized. That took only 3 hours, give or take. (yes - still in my pjs at this point - not a pretty sight!!) I then moved from the kitchen to the our bedroom closet and bookshelves. I packed no less than 10 boxes of stuff we don't need out right now and took the rest to Good Will. It was liberating to get rid of things that have been holding on for dear life around here. Thinking about having to pack up and move all of this stuff made it even easier to let go. Next up... the attic!! YIKES!! No telling what has been sitting up there for the past 5 years!!

I found this picture below as well as the one at the top at the same time. The top picture most likely represents what I wish I looked like when I am cleaning (cheerful and all put together with coordinating outfit and earrings!!). The picture below is probably closer to reality (fierce determination and raggedy old cleaning clothes - in my case, pjs)!!

Nice job. I should follow suit. I have so much clutter that i don't know where to even start.

It is overwhelming to realize how much stuff we accumulate - and honestly sometimes I don't know where to start either. Just ask Gabe!! I am not the world's most organized person :)
