Lets face it, we all let our kiddos watch TV and hopefully we all want to limit our children's time watching the "tube". I try my hardest to make sure what my kids are watching is educational, not just entertaining. We don't have a million and two channels (like most American families!!) We get to choose from the slim pickings that we receive from our antenna. Of the four channels that we do get, one is PBS. That is just fine with me. Most of the cartoons on PBS are very educational and appropriate for young children. Here are a few of my favorites......

Other than the "tube", Isaac also enjoys playing on the computer. If you go to the PBS Kids website, there are tons of educational games for each cartoon aired on PBS. A few friends of mine have also introduced me to Star Fall. I like it so much that I have actually incorporated this site into my home schooling schedule.
Though I don't actually own them (but plan to soon!), I have also heard of the amazing Leap Frog DVDs. I will give you my review once I have actually seen them in action.I do one other thing that helps with TV time and limits. We use "TV Tickets"
The kids have 3 tickets for the day. Once they get used, no more TV time! Completely frees me from the argument that is sure to begin.
Hope that didn't bore you too much!! I promise to post something soon that is less "teacher-y" (is that even a word?!)
