Blessed Be the Name of the Lord

We are going through some trying times right now. Rather not expand on the details of either situation at the moment, but I do want to share where God is leading my heart.

God never promised us an easy life, did he? However, He did promise that there would be trouble in this world. (John 16:33) God doesn't end that verse there... hear this.... " but take heart.....I have overcome the world!!!!!" (John 16:33) What victory we have in Jesus! God never promised that there would be no sickness and pain. He did promise to be our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. (Ps. 46:1) God doesn't ask or expect us to carry the burden of this world on our own shoulders. He wants us to come to Him, rest in Him, take refuge in Him, and trust Him. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matt. 11:28)

When the inevitable suffering arrives, we have a choice to make. Do you run into the arms of our Father or do you run the other way? I choose the first. I choose to praise His name when the sun is shining. And I choose to praise His name when the storm rages. Blessed be the Name of the Lord.

Blessed be your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where the streams of abundance flow

Blessed be your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness

Every blessing you pour out,
I turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed be your glorious name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's all as it should be
Blessed be your name

On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out,
I turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed be your glorious name
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, Blessed be your name

My favorite song! I will be praying for and with you during this time. We certainly have been through many of those ourselves.
