Drumroll Please...........

Oh, what a joyous day!!!!
(Julia is saying "boy" in the picture - that is why she has such a silly face)

The sonogram went GREAT!!! What a unique and special moment to share together as a family. Most importantly our little guy looks to be very healthy and doing well. The kids were as giddy as I was to go see Dr. V and that "special TV" as Julia calls it. We got to see him opening and closing his mouth, kicking his legs, and wiggling around. He also had one arm up behind his head like he was "kickin'" back in the womb. Maybe that is a sign that he will be content and laid back!! (I can only hope and pray!!)

As soon as Dr. V went to the "area", I knew immediately that it was a boy. No doubt in my mind. Let's just say our little guy was not shy at all!!! Gabe was beaming from ear to ear!! We both had a feeling that it might be a boy. When the kids realized that the baby was a brother, Isaac jumped for joy and said, "YES, that is just what I wanted!!!!" Julia said, "No, no I want a sister. I said sister." SO FUNNY!!! She had put in an order for a sister and by golly that is just what she wanted! We immediately told her that this was a good thing and that she would be our only little princess and that she could help take care of her new little brother, etc. Before we walked out of the office, she was on board and okay with the news! Gabe made a funny comment in the doctor's office right after we discovered the gender. He said, "It is either a boy or a three legged girl" He makes me laugh so much! This is a random tidbit of information but he even made me laugh during a contraction when I was in labor with Julia. He brings such joy to my life.

Well, we headed from the doctor out to celebrate by having a Chuychanga at Chuy's. I am going to have to slow down on Chuy's. We have eaten there 3 times in the last month. The creamy jalepeno sauce is worth it though. Ok, I digress. Back to our eventful afternoon. While we were driving to dinner, Gabe started to say something about the name to the kids and I quickly hushed him. He nodded and said, "Yep you're right, Loose Lips Sink Ships!" Again, he is such a funny man! We are not even going to tell the kids the name so they won't spill the beans to anyone else. We will gladly introduce our new son to you come early September.

congratulations! I am so happy to hear that your little boy is healthy. There is a commercial on NICK TV I think it is Olivia (a preschooler) the character that says "Just because your parents ask you what you want (brother or sister) doesn't mean you are going to get what you asked for."

Good idea on keeping the name a secret with the little ones. My little girl gladly shares EVERYTHING even when she is not asked!

I had guessed a boy! Congratulations! I checked your blog at least 30 times today to see if you'd posted yet! I am so excited.

I am thrilled. Three boys and three girls--perfect! I haven't checked your blog in several weeks, so it took me a while to catch up. I am so glad that you posted pics of "prego Cheryl." I was going to ask you to do that and there you were. I love you. Mom
