Build A Bear

When I was pregnant with Julia, we took Isaac to Build A Bear so he could "make" a bear for his new little sibling. He still remembers that trip - in fact he remembers details from our outing that day which surprises me. He was only 2!! Ok, sidetracking.... sorry. Back to my story. When Isaac came to visit us at the hospital to meet Julia for the first time, he brought the bear to give to her. I know we are not the first to think of doing this, but it was special for our family.

Yesterday we made the trek once again to Build A Bear. Isaac and Julia were in snuggle friend fantasy land. There were just too many choices and too many opinions. After the "Great Debate of '09", the kids finally agreed which Bear to make for the baby.

We stuffed and fluffed to our hearts content. Isaac and Julia put all their love on the red hearts and placed them safely inside the bear. We also made a birth certificate for baby #3's bear and named him (the bear) Andy!! Cute, huh?!

Isaac and Julia had a hard time sharing the care of Andy the rest of the day. They both felt that it was their duty to protect and cuddle said bear as much as possible without any help from the other. UGH! But all in all, they did great and really enjoyed making this gift for their new little brother.

We spent the rest of the afternoon together as a family.... getting snacks at Pretzel Time, shopping, and going out to eat at BWW for lunch. I love days where we get to make memories and spend time just being together. Good day!

So many choices!

I think we got a winner!!

Making a wish for her little brother

Claiming Andy as our own - making the birth certificate

Proud of their work

Andy is ready to meet........ Ha - you thought I was going to tell you his name, huh? Nope, you have to wait a few more weeks!!!
