Landa Park

Doing any type of outdoor activity this summer is tricky. It has been horribly hot. (I think I have mentioned that in a post or two;) Yesterday morning we headed over to New Braunfels to go to Landa Park. We got out of the house extra early to try and beat the heat. When we got there it was 8:30 and nearing 90 degrees already. So much for beating the heat!!

Julia got to try out her new big girl bike we found at a garage sale for $5 - complete with horn, tassels, and a basket up front. It is still a bit big for her,but she is able to pedal it just fine. She would stop ever so often to honk her horn at all the birds saying that she didn't want to run them over with her bike! So considerate Miss Julia! I think she just wanted an excuse to honk her horn.

We spent the rest of our morning at the playground, then headed down to the "swimming hole". There is a little wading area - an off shoot from the river - where I took the kids to swim. Gabe and his brothers played there often as children. This was Isaac and Julia's first time and of course they had a blast.

I totally swam there as a child! Love to see Julia's bike that she 'got on sale' as she said.
