Gabe's New Toy

This is the time of year to get a great deal on all the summer clearance items..... like grills! Gabe spotted some gas grills on sale at Wal-Mart and we snagged a great deal. He has had a small charcoal grill for years now. I think it is high time he gets a "real" grill. In fact I bought the old grill for him for his birthday 5 years ago. Let's call this one an early birthday gift for Gabe (who, by the way, turns 37 on Sept. 21) We grilled chicken and veggie Shishkabobs (is that how you spell that?) and enjoyed the ease of the new grill. I told him that this purchase was good timing with the baby due to be born soon. I could easily let Gabe do the majority of the cooking on the grill while I simply throw a few sides together. Easy!! He seemed okay with that! I bought Gabe a grilling cookbook awhile back. He suggested we just go straight through the book until we have tried everything. So we may have Monday grill nights from now on. I vote that we skip the fish section, though!




While waiting for the kabobs to cook, Gabe and the kids enjoyed a game of "golf ball toss"..... what do you call that game, anyway?! It was a nice relaxing evening with my family. The kind I always look forward to.
